Sweet, tangy, and full of flavor, this honey mustard chicken bake is an easy dinner made with juicy chicken breasts coated in a simple homemade honey mustard sauce.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20–30 minutes
Total Time: 30–40 minutes
Servings: 4
Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
¼ cup honey
¼ cup Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons whole-grain mustard
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, optional
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, Dijon mustard, whole-grain mustard, olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
Pat the chicken breasts dry and arrange them in a single layer in the prepared baking dish.
Pour the honey mustard sauce evenly over the chicken, making sure each piece is well coated.
Bake for 20–30 minutes, depending on the thickness of the chicken, until the thickest part reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for about 5 minutes.
Spoon the warm honey mustard pan sauce over the chicken and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
Pound thick chicken breasts to an even thickness for more even cooking.
Add extra honey if you prefer a sweeter sauce.
For a spicy version, add crushed red pepper flakes or a pinch of cayenne.
You can substitute boneless chicken thighs if preferred.
Serve with roasted potatoes, rice, green beans, broccoli, or a fresh salad.
Storage
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Reheat gently with some of the sauce to help keep the chicken moist.
