Course: Side Dish
Cuisine: American
Difficulty: Easy
Ingredients
1 lb fresh carrots, peeled and sliced
1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
3 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Pinch of red pepper flakes, optional
Instructions
Wash and prepare the carrots and green beans. Slice the carrots into evenly sized pieces and trim the ends from the green beans.
Heat the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the carrots and cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they begin to soften.
Add the green beans and continue cooking for another 5–7 minutes, or until both vegetables are crisp-tender.
Reduce the heat to medium-low. Add the remaining butter, honey, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.
Toss everything together until the vegetables are evenly coated in the honey butter glaze.
Cook for another 2–3 minutes, stirring frequently, until the glaze thickens slightly.
Remove from the heat and sprinkle with fresh parsley and optional red pepper flakes.
Serve your Honey Glazed Carrots & Green Beans warm.
Notes
Add an extra teaspoon or two of honey if you prefer a sweeter glaze.
For extra freshness, finish with a squeeze of lemon juice.
Baby carrots can be used, but larger pieces may need to be sliced lengthwise.
Avoid high heat after adding the honey because the glaze can burn.
For a maple variation, replace the honey with pure maple syrup.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days.
