Crab Imperial with Old Bay Breadcrumb Gratin

Ingredients (Serves 3)
Crab Filling
1 lb lump crab meat
½ cup mayonnaise
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
1 tsp lemon juice
Salt & black pepper to taste
Cheese
½ cup shredded mozzarella or Monterey Jack
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Old Bay Breadcrumb Topping
½ cup panko breadcrumbs
2 tbsp butter, melted
Pinch of Old Bay seasoning
Garnish
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
Preheat the Oven
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease small ramekins or a baking dish.
Prepare the Crab Filling
In a bowl gently mix the lump crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Old Bay seasoning, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix carefully to keep the crab pieces intact.
Fill the Ramekins
Spoon the crab mixture into ramekins or a small baking dish and sprinkle the shredded mozzarella evenly over the top.
Make the Breadcrumb Topping
In a small bowl combine panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, melted butter, and a pinch of Old Bay seasoning. Sprinkle this mixture over the crab filling.
Bake Until Golden
Bake for 18–20 minutes until the top is golden brown and the filling is hot and bubbly.
Finish & Serve
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot with fresh lemon wedges for a bright, buttery seafood finish.
