Salt and pepper to taste
For the Topping:
1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
INSTRUCTIONS:
STEP 1: PREPARE THE ONIONS
Cut the tops off the onions and carefully hollow out the centers, leaving 2–3 outer layers to form a shell.
Brush with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.

In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned.
Add diced onion, garlic, bacon, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook until fragrant and well combined.

Place stuffed onions on a foil-lined tray.
Cover loosely with foil and bake at 190°C (375°F) for 30 minutes.
STEP 5: ADD CHEESE
Remove foil, top each onion with shredded cheese, and bake uncovered for another 10–15 minutes until melted and golden.
STEP 6: SERVE

Dressing suggestion: drizzle with a light garlic yogurt sauce or a tangy BBQ glaze.
Pro tips: choose large firm onions for easy stuffing, don’t overcook the beef before baking, and let them rest 5 minutes before serving.
Healthy tips: use lean ground beef or swap with ground turkey and reduce cheese for a lighter version.
Vegan tip: replace beef with lentils or mushrooms and use plant-based cheese.
These cheesy bacon stuffed onions are juicy, smoky, and packed with flavor—perfect for a hearty dinner or a unique side dish.
